In this five part series hosted by Emily Hartford, students will learn how to celebrate the process of repairing worn or damaged clothes through visible mending. Students will be taught basics alongside a variety of garment specific repairs.

In this class, participants will learn the basics of mending damaged clothing or bags. Mending skills taught will be tailored to participants items needing mending. We will cover mending holes, tears, and more!  Each participant will bring their own item(s) in need of mending, and leave with an embroidery needle, thread, and floss, and a beautifully mended garment!

Materials: All materials will be provided through the material fee, however students should bring a garments in need of mending.

In this class, participants will learn the basics of using embroidery to mend and embellish damaged clothing or bags. Many different stitches will be taught - from decorative lines, to ladder stitches, to floral embroidery, and more. Each participant will bring their own item(s) in need of mending, and leave with an embroidery needle and floss, and a beautifully mended garment!

Materials: All materials will be provided through the material fee, however students should bring a garments in need of mending.

 In this class, participants will learn the basics of using a darning loom to mend socks, knits, or other clothing. Each participant will leave with a loom and floss of their own.

Materials: Darning Looms and materials will be provided through the material fee however, please bring any garments that need mending. Otherwise garments to be mended can also be borrowed.

In this class, participants will learn the basics of mending denim with denim patches. We will cover the process of mending denim, designing and attaching patches, and several different stitch patterns and their history. Each participant will bring their own garments or denim items for mending or request that one be supplied for class time only.

Materials: All materials will be provided through the material fee. However students are welcome to bring any hand-sewing equipment they would like.

In this class, participants will learn the basics of mending knit items (not jersey or stretch fabric, but rather sweaters and the like). We will cover invisible and visible methods of repairing knit items. Each participant will bring their own garments or items for mending or request that one be supplied for class time only.

Materials: Please bring a garment or an item to mend. Other sewing supplies are optional as everything else will be provided through the material fee.
